KARACHI: On Thursday, upon market closing, Pakistan Rupee continued its upward trend against USD in both interbank and open markets. Against Euro in open market, it lost slightly for buying while gaining value for selling. It remained unchanged against both AED and SR closing at yesterday’s rates.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee gained 10 paisas for buying and 20 paisas for selling against USD over yesterday's rates closing at 163.70 and 163.80 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying while remaining unchanged for selling over yesterday’s rates closing at 163.80 and 164.10 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR lost 10 paisas for buying while gaining one rupee for selling closing at 191.60 and 192 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 44.40 and 44.60 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal as well, PKR remained unchanged for both buying and selling closing at 43.30 and 43.50 respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee maintained upward journey for the third consecutive day against the American dollar in the local currency market on Thursday.

Due to lack of buyers’ interest in the market, the dollar maintained downward slide for another day and it ended further lower for buying and selling at Rs 163.50 and Rs 164.50 against the overnight closing trend of Rs 163.80 and Rs 165.00 respectively, local currency dealers said.

Moreover, the local currency stayed unchanged against the pound sterling for buying as it closed at its opening rate of Rs 210.50 whereas it lost 50 paisas for selling and ended at Rs 212.50 against the previous trend of Rs 212.00 respectively, they added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee gained 20 paisas against the dollar at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.

The dollar opened at Rs164.20(buying) and Rs164.30(selling) against last rate of Rs164.40(buying) and Rs164.50(selling).

It closed at Rs164.20(buying) and Rs164.30(selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold was Rs. 115,300(selling) and Rs115,100(buying) at the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
