Settlement of gas circular debt, removal of duties may be approved

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet may approve settlement of gas circular debt and removal of additional custom duties on 152 tariff lines Wednesday (Nov 4).

The meeting to be presided over by Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh would consider Petroleum division proposal for settlement of circular debt issue and Commerce Division proposal for removal of additional custom duties on 152 tariff lines on horizontal basis under National Tariff Commission Policy 2019-24.

The meeting would also take up NAB proposal for International Arbitration - Broadsheet LLC V/s government (through NAB) payment of part final award (Quantum) and part final award (Costs). The meeting would also take up Narcotics Control proposal with regard to Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs. 5,747,000/-for operational cost of Anti Narcotics Force, under Demand No.117-ID-9314 during the Financial Year 2020-21 and National Health, services regulations and coordination request for Supplementary Grant.

The meeting would also consider Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony summary for Technical Supplementary Grant of Rs 1.069billion on account o Hajj expenses - Hajj 2018, Ministry of National Food Security and Research proposal for release of 0500 million Tonnes of wheat from PASSCO to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Department.
