RECORDER REPORT

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) vice-chairman strongly condemned the carnage at Mach where more than a dozen innocent citizens belonging to Hazara community were barbarically murdered in Bolan District of Balochistan.

The PBC vice-chief, Abid Saqi, in a statement, issued by the council secretary on Wednesday, deplored the inaction and utter failure of the government and law enforcement agencies to check and control the law and order situation, and ensure safety and security of the people.

He criticised the government functionaries for their inhuman attitude and failure to address the grievances and demands of hundreds of family members of ill-fated victims, who are sitting in open under the sky in minus temperatures, for the last couple of days alongside coffins carrying dead bodies of their loved ones and waiting for categorical personal assurance by the prime minister that right of life to members of their community in Pakistan, especially in Balochistan, may be ensured.

Supporting the demands of the victims’ families, Abid Saqi also demanded of the federal and provincial governments, for immediate strictest action against the culprits and foolproof security measures for providing safety of life to members of the Hazara community of Balochistan.
