ISLAMABAD: The government, on Thursday, unblocked the TikTok app in the country in pursuance of the orders of the Peshawar High Court (PHC).

The Pakistan Telecomm-unication Autho-rity (PTA) spokesperson told Business Recorder that in pursuance of the orders of the PHC, the PTA has issued directions to the service providers to unblock access to the TikTok app.

However, the TikTok app management has been told to ensure that vulgar and objectionable content are to be made inaccessible in accordance with the (Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act) provisions and directions of the Court, the official added.

The PHC has directed to unblock the app, after the hearing of a case pertaining to TikTok.

The TikTok app was made inaccessible on March 11, 2021.
