Ogra increases LNG price for June

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), on Wednesday, increased the provisional price of LNG for the consumers of both gas companies, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) and the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) for the month of June.

As compared with the previous month of May, the price of LNG went up from $10.2528 to $10.3326 per mmbtu or $0.0798 per mmbtu for the consumers of the SNGPL.

The total length of the SNGPL's distribution network is approximately 122,325 km, supplying around 2,000 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) natural gas to 6.5 million consumers.

The distribution network is stretched over 4,345 No towns/villages of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Islamabad Capital Territory. 

While, the price of LNG for the consumers of the SSGC was also increased as compared with the previous month of May.

The price of LNG increased from $9.9692 in May to $10.0497 per mmbtu or $0.0805 per mmbtu for the month of June.

The government imported 12 cargos of LNG, six through the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and six through spot purchase by Pakistan LNG Ltd for the month of June.

The number of cargoes in May was 13. The DES price of cargoes imported under long-term contracts of the PSO, the price of LNG is $ 8.9458 per mmbtu and $7.1433 per mmbtu imported under spot purchase for the current month.
