The current state of Pak-US relationship

It’s indeed a matter of great satisfaction that Pakistan, according to a Business Recorder report, has made it clear to the US that it wants “a sustainable relationship anchored in economic cooperation, regional connectivity and peace in the region. Pakistan has also explained to the deputy secretary of state of the US that the current strained relations between the two countries can be eased through a regular structured dialogue. In other words, the US has learnt to its chagrin that its ‘do more’ mantra is not going to work anymore. That the US has been conducting itself in an ungrateful manner is a fact. It’s about time our government drew some lessons out of bruised global superpower’s post-Taliban Kabul takeover attitude. The US must not forget that Pakistan has played a highly responsible role in relation to Afghanistan. Moreover, it must not lose sight of the fact that its overt tilt towards India has created imbalance in South Asia.
