PM orders authorities to expedite distribution

ISLAMABAD; Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work on completion of distribution of health, Kisan (farmer) and Ehsaas cards and arrangements related to them.

The prime minister was chairing a meeting on the progress of Health, Kisan Card and Ehsaas Card, Tuesday. Those who attended the meeting included special assistants Dr Sania Nishtar, Dr Faisal Sultan, Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, and concerned senior officers.

In addition, Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief ministers and chief secretaries participated through video link.

The prime minister said that the health card of the government is a unique initiative to provide free healthcare to the people.

Health and Sehat card would provide a great relief to the underprivileged, he added.

He further directed the work for distribution of cards should be expedited in Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa by setting up special cells.

The prime minister said that the distribution of health cards will be ensured across Punjab soon after its completion in Lahore.

The prime minister said that health farmer cards are among the government’s top priorities.

The meeting was given briefing on distribution of health cards in Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan Divisions of Punjab province as well as in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

During the briefing, the meeting was informed that the distribution process of Kisan card has been started from South Punjab.

Additionally, the meeting was told that the strategy was in final phase to include more products in Kisan card.—ZAHEER ABBASI
