KARACHI: The Karachi Port Trust handled 96,760 tonnes of cargo comprising 67,266 tonnes of import cargo and 29,494 tonnes of export cargo during last 24 hours ending on Monday.

The total import cargo of 67,266 comprised of 5,222 tonnes of Containerized Cargo, 5,061 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 19,668 tonnes of DAP, 8,100 tonnes of Iron Ore, 2,591 tonnes of Palm Kernel Expeller, 2,043 tonnes of Sugar, 6,212 tonnes of Wheat and 18,368 tonnes of Oil/Liquid Cargo.

The total export cargo of 29,494 tonnes comprised of 8,605 tonnes of containerized cargo, 200 tonnes of Bulk Cargo, 15,389 tonnes of Clinkers & 5,300 tonnes of Oil & Liquid Cargo.

Approximately, 2132 containers comprising of 481 containers import and 1651 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.

The break-up of imported containers shows 35 of 20’s and 153 of 40’s loaded while 00 of 20’s and 70 of 40’s empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 130 of 20’s and 122 of 40’s loaded containers while 287 of 20’s and 495 of 40’s empty containers were handled during the business hours.

Some 05 ships namely, Kumano, Lian Gui Hu, Thorswind, Teera Bhum and Ds Ocean have berthed at Karachi Port.

About 05 ships namely, Northern Dexterity, Apl Antwerp, SSL Brahmaputra, Sti Excel and Clemens Schulte have sailed out from Karachi Port.

Nearly 06 cargos namely, Chemtrans Arctic, Black Swan, Kota Neked, Clovis Star, GPS Perfect and TS Mumbai were expected to arrive on the same day.

PORT QASIM

A total of 10 ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them, two ships, Project cargo carrier ‘Han Yi’ and Gas carrier ‘Tomson Gas’ left the port on Monday morning, while four more ships, IVS Naruo, Johanno Oldendroff, Gas Amazon and Torm Sara are expected to sail on today in the afternoon.
