‘Pakistan surpasses China in production’

KARACHI: Pakistan has surpassed China in the production of quality plastic products. This was stated by the event directors of the 8th edition of PakPlas Expo that concluded at Karachi Expo Centre the other day. They urged the government to support the local plastic industry to strengthen it further. As many as 200 local and international companies participated in this exhibition while 50 exhibitors also took part in it.

President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said that the government should facilitate industrialists and the national business community for import and export in order to enhance the industry and trade in the country.

President of Plastic Manufacturers Association Zakria Usman said the local plastic industry plays a very important role in the development and growth of the country.

“The government should facilitate the local plastic industry. This exhibition is for the promotion and development of the local plastic industry,” he added.

Managing Director of Event360 Hira Saleem said that the exhibition received a very good response as hundreds of people including women and children visited the exhibition.

She added that this exhibition has proved that Karachi is not only a peaceful city but also a centre of business and industry. “Exhibition attracted hundreds of people and this shows how successful it was,” said Hira.

President Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industry M Idrees, Commercial Attaché of Iran Husain Emeni, Director Project Ahsan Ameen, Director Operation S M Sajjad were also present.
