PESHAWAR: Secretary for Industries, Commerce and Technical Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC) Saqib Raza Aslam visited the Hattar economic zone on Thursday to inaugurate two more industrial units and launch a tree plantation campaign there.

CEO of the KP-EZDMC Javed Iqbal Khattak and Member of the BOD Hasan Farid accompanied the industries secretary during his visit to the Hattar Special Economic Zone (HSEZ).

During the meeting with members of the Hattar Industrial Association (HIA), the visiting delegation was briefed by HIA Chairman Malik Ashiq Awan on the issues of the zone. The association’s members acknowledged and appreciated the role of the provincial government and the KP-EZDMC in addressing the problems faced by industrialists.

Saqib Aslam inaugurated the Ali Steel Industries and Farhad Enterprises on the occasion. The two industrial projects worth Rs850 million will generate more than 800 employment opportunities upon commercial production.

The Farhad Enterprises is set to become the first cold storage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with modern plant equipped with artificial intelligence and a capacity of 5,000 metric tons.
