KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Planning & Development and Energy Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has announced a major discovery of gas and condensate at the Pateji-X1 exploration well, located in the Shah Bandar Block, District Sujawal producing 11.7 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 198 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate.

The Sindh Energy Holding Company (Pvt) Limited (SEHCL), a joint venture partner in the Shah Bandar Block, holds a 2.5 per cent working interest. Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) serves as the operator with a majority stake of 63 per cent, while Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) and Government Holdings (Pvt) Limited (GHPL) hold 32 per cent and 2.5 per cent working interests, respectively.—PR
