ISLAMABAD: Different universities in the federal capital have shifted to online classes from Monday (April 20) to Friday (April 24) in light of the ongoing Iran–United States peace talks.

According to a notification issued by International Islamic University Islamabad, midterm examinations scheduled for April 20 and 21 have been postponed. A revised schedule will be announced later, it says.

The university has also introduced a four-day workweek (Monday to Thursday) for non-academic staff. Up to 50 percent of employees will work from home on a rotational basis, except those assigned essential duties, as determined by relevant departmental heads. These arrangements will remain in effect from April 20 to April 30.

Meanwhile, Hamdard University Islamabad Campus has announced that all classes will be conducted online from April 20 to April 24, with midterm examinations postponed.

Similarly, COMSATS University Islamabad has also moved all classes online starting April 20, with the duration of the arrangement yet to be specified.
