KARACHI: As liquidity flooded the ready board, the Future Spread contracted significantly, dropping by 377 basis points to settle at 9.20 percent compared to 12.97 percent the previous week.

Activity in the futures market also accelerated significantly. Average daily futures trading volume increased 85.3 percent to 230.35 million shares, up from 124.30 million shares in the preceding week.

Likewise, average daily turnover in the futures segment surged 127 percent to Rs12.40 billion, compared with Rs5.46 billion previously, reflecting increased investor appetite for leveraged positions amid improving market sentiment.
