PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agriculture University decided to give a sizeable piece of land to Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), at its Amir Muhammad Khan Campus for establishment of a model village.

The decision was taken during a visit of ZTBL team to the KP Agriculture University Peshawar campus here on Wednesday. The ZTBL delegation was headed by Sher Aman Khan, Zonal Chief along with other members, including Azizur Rehman, Vice President ZTBL and Hidayat ur Rehman, ZTBL, which met with the varsity Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Afzal.

During the meeting, the faculty members of the KP Agriculture University, included Dr Muhammad Naeem Department of Entomology, Dr Mohammad Tariq Jan Department of Agronomy, Dr Zahir Shah Department of Soil & Environmental Sciences, Dr Hidayat ur Rehman Department of Plant Breeding & Genetics, Dr Farzan Ali Jan Director Finance, Muhammad Ilyas Khan Director AMKC, Rizwan Ahmad Director P&D, Abdus Salam Deputy Director P&D and Yaser Iqbal Paracha APDO/In charge VC Secretariat.

Muhammad Afzal formally welcomed the delegation of ZBTL and informed them about the ongoing academic and research activities in the University. He further informed about the pace of establishment of the University Amir Muhammad Khan Campus in district Mardan.

ZTBL delegation Head, Sher Aman Khan, extended special gratitude to the University for provision of piece of land for setting up a model village in the Amir Muhammad Khan Campus. He said the ZBTL had initiated different projects across the country.

He said the purpose of the visit was to get approval of the University’s administration for setting up a Model Village at the Amir Muhammad Khan Campus Mardan.

Aman Khan explained that the Model Village will be used to demonstrate the innovative agricultural practices and would prove instrumental in providing knowledge to the students, graduates, farmers and general public. The ZTBL would develop the Model village using its own resources, he added.

On the occasion, the varsity’s Vice Chancellor and faculty of the University appreciated the innovative idea of the ZTBL and committed to provide all out support to the Bank in this regard.

During the meeting, it was decided that the Agriculture University will provide a sizeable piece of land in its Amir Muhammad Khan campus in district Mardan, for setting up the proposed model village.

The meeting said that the University shall facilitate the ZTBL and provide all required facilities at the Model Farm. For this purpose, a meeting with senior management of the ZTBL would be formally prepared with required modalities for this project.
