ANF Sindh reforms its strategy to deal

KARACHI: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh has revised its strategy to deal with the drug traffickers by launching series of operations in notorious area of the province.

ANF Sindh in collaboration with intelligence tentacles and other LEAs have planned a series of operations to stop the proliferation of drugs in the province and drug trafficking.

Force Commander(ANF) Sindh, Brig Muhammad Abuzar while briefing the media about the performance of the force here on Friday said that the ANF will continue efforts to make Sindh province drug-free.

He said to counter the drug related activities in Karachi, the force has launched an operation “Operation Umeed-e-Nau” with the assistance of other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) with a view to stop the flow of narcotics into Karachi and its distribution within city and trafficking to the other countries.

Besides this, the ANF had established a Model Addict Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre (MATRC) in 2006 in Kalri area of Karachi which has been turned into state of the art centre by its own resources where best treatment is being provided to the drug addicts.

The ANF has prepared future plan for drug demand reduction including a drug awareness Karate tournament on November 24 at Hyderabad, family walk about drug awareness on Sea View, Karachi on December 22 and a body building competition about drug awareness on January 16, 2014.—APP
