ISLAMABAD: While condemning the execution of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Abdul Quader Molla for 1971 war crimes, civil society organisations, traders union and Shabab-e-Milli Pakistan staged a protest demonstration in front of Bangladesh High Commission on Friday.

Hundreds of workers of Pakistan Professional Forum, Pasban Pakistan, Pakistan Minority Alliance, Pakistan Lawyer movement, Milli Yakjahti Council, traders union took part in the protest and submitted resolution to the representatives of Bangladesh High Commission. The protest rally, which was organised by Shabab-e-Milli, marched from Jinnah Supper and staged protest in front of Bangladesh High Commission.

The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the execution of JI leader Abdul Quader Molla in Bangladesh. Heavy contingent of security was deployed on the occasion to avert any untoward incident.

JI senior leader Main Muhammad Aslam, while speaking on the occasion, termed the execution of Abdul Quader Molla as killing of justice in Bangladesh. He said the government of Bangladesh should abide by the agreement reached between Mujib-ur-Rehman and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Javed Akhtar, President of Shabab-e-Milli, has expressed surprise that “our government has announced that execution of the JI leader is an internal issue of Bangladesh; hence it could not interfere in Bangladesh internal affairs.” The so-called war tribunal and the court decision have proved that there was no law and justice in Bangladesh, he said.
