KARACHI: The Mohajir Rabita Council (MRC) has resolved to achieve the target of a separate Mohajir province in Sindh under all circumstances.

The decision was made during a high profile meeting of the MRC at its office in Karachi late Sunday night. The meeting tabled a resolution for the creation of a separate Mohajir province in Sindh, which the participants and leaders of the MRC approved unanimously.

The resolution says: “Time for the creation of a separate Mohajir province in Sindh is fully ripe, after which Mohajir youth would witness the end of their frustrations and deprivations as they would find tremendous job opportunities, better educational facilities and above all their self-esteem, especially their mothers and sister would be fully respected and protected.”

MRC President Yaqoob Bandhani chaired the meeting while MRC Senior Vice-President Tasadduq Hussain, General Secretary Arshad Siddiqui, Joint Secretary Rao Zaheen Alam and others attended the meeting.

The MRC President said that Mohajirs had offered great sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan but despite the passage of 67 years after the creation of the country, Mohajirs were still deprived of their rights.

Bandhani demanded of President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to announce the creation of Mohajir province before the end of the current year.

He warned that the MRC would not hesitate to take any extreme step for the rights of Mohajirs.—NNI
