All resources being made available: PM

ISLAMABAD: A ceremony was held at the PM’s House on Friday in connection with the World Polio Day.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met polio-affected children and their parents. He also administered polio vaccine drops to children.

Talking to them, the PM expressed the commitment of his government towards eradicating polio for which all resources were being made available. He said the PM’s Office had recently taken a Polio Eradication Initiative for directly monitoring and reviewing progress on the matter of utmost importance. He said a PM’s Focus Group for Polio Emergency had also been constituted to hold monthly meetings to assess the performance of the polio eradication programme.

The PM said a comprehensive Communication Strategy was being evolved that promoted all immunisation as right of the child calling upon every segment of the society to ensure children were given that right.—PR
