RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Kisan Board Pakistan (KBP) Secretary General Malik Muhammad Ramzan Rohari while strongly criticising delay in sugarcane crushing season by sugar millers has termed it as a well thought-out plan to loot the sugarcane growers.

He said that the Board would take up this issue with the rulers to get equal incentives for farm workers in line with the incentives given to industrial workers.

KBP leader also addressed different meetings of the farmers at Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Okara and Faisalabad and alleged that earlier cotton and rice millers looted the farmers and they did not receive even half of their labour and now sugar millers are planning to loot the growers by delaying the crushing season.

He said work on compiling this document has already been started and Board is preparing it in consultation with growers from all the provinces of the country.
