ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Communication Friday revealed that some employees hired on contract basis were regularised on the same day.

The Senate Standing Committee on Communication met here with Daud Khan Achakzai in the chair where serious concern was shown over the written mistakes in briefing papers and not filling the vacant posts under the Aaghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan.

The chairman of the committee said in the last committee meeting it was directed to present the list of employees, who worked for 18 months to two years and were later fired from their jobs, while other employees hired on contract basis were regularised the same day. He further explained that up to BPS-15 people can be hired from the deceased employees’ family however, there is no regular quota.

DG Postal Services Misal Khan informed the committee that new recruitments are made on contract basis when there is a vacant post, and the ministry of Finance has to accord approval for the recruitment on 171 posts lying vacant under the Aaghaz-e-Huqooq-e-Balochistan.
