KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman is all set to become a member of the Senate as she filed the nomination papers for the general seat of the Parliament’s Upper House.

According to details, PPP’s Sherry Rehman is the only candidate to file the nomination papers for the Senate seat which was vacated by the party’s Abdul Latif Ansari.

The deadline for submitting the nomination papers for the Senate seat ends today, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) stated.

Rehman, speaking to media after submitting the papers at Election Commission office, said that PPP will support democratic forces in crucial situation.

She also said that the government has confessed of not meeting the targets that were set in the budget. “It is the responsibility of the federal government to end unemployment and power shortage,” Rehman said.

Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah talking to media stated that the provincial government was busy in preparations for the local government elections in Sindh and working hard to create employment opportunities for the youth.—NNI
