PESHAWAR: The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will conduct a survey to get the actual number of the out of schools children in the province and then take suitable steps for their enrolment in the schools.

According to official sources, the PTI government is concentrating in promotion of education and for this

purpose it had declared education emergency in the province.

For the current financial year, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has allocated fund of Rs. 5.518 billion for initiating 67 projects in primary and secondary education sectors. Out of these projects 39 are ongoing for which an amount of Rs.3.853 billion have been allocated while another amount of Rs.1.665 billion will be spent on initiating of new projects. Similarly, at least 20% of the district government budget will also be utilized on education.

The targets of the provincial government in education sector are included the establishment of 150 primary schools for girls and boys, 100 secondary schools, up-gradation of 50 girls middle to high school level and 50 girls high schools to higher secondary level.

During the current financial year, the KP government has also planned the equipping of 500 high and higher secondary schools with IT Laboratories another 500 community schools will be established for provision of basic education in different parts of the province.

For the protection of the health of school going children, a School Feeding Program will be started at the cost of Rs.100 million, while an amount of Rs.1 billion will be spent on the provision of furniture to schools.

Construction work on the building of Elementary Education Foundation will also start this year and new public sector colleges will be established on need basis. One each Government College Management for Girls and Boys will be established in Bannu and Dir Upper while building construction projects for already established Government College of Management Science (GCMS) will also start beside the reconstruction of building for GCMS D.I.Khan.

The official said that a fund of Rs.80 million has been allocated for maintenance and repair of public libraries and other facilities while Hazara University Campus, Havelian will be granted full-pledge university status. Similarly, digital science laboratories and digital libraries will also be established in different colleges of the province while a fund of Rs.100 million will be utilized on the provision of transport facilities to the teachers of public sector colleges.

Women University will be initiated in Mardan while a Sub-Campus of the Engineering University Peshawar will also be established in Dir Upper.

The post of theology teachers and PET will also be generated in schools and a maximum increase in the

charge allowances of primary school head teacher and head masters of middle and high schools and principals of higher secondary schools has been made.
