ISLAMABAD: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday approved a draft of three-year trade policy and issued instructions of putting the policy up for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s approval.

Trade Ministry presented a final draft of Strategic Trade Policy framework 2015-2018 in Cabinet sub-Committee on Production and Exports’s meeting which was chaired by Dar in the federal capital.

The committee was told that as soon as the PM approves the policy, it would be acted upon immediately. A statement issued by the Finance Ministry stated that the government is taking the serious notice of decrease in exports.

Dar vowed that the government would take all necessary steps to lift up exports ratio. He further said that better supply of gas and power and cut in interest rates would help economic growth of the country.—NNI
