PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government has notified the establishment of Medical Transplantation Regulatory Authority.

According to a notification issued from Secretary Health Office, Provincial Minister for Health will be Chairman of the Regulatory Authority while other member include Secretary Health, Dr. Attaur Rehman, Dr. Syed Muneeb, Dr. Sher Rehman, Dr. Aadil Nasir Khan, Prof. Dr. Ziaul Islam, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abbas Tariq, Dr. Aziz ur Rehman and Prof. Dr. Asif Malik.

The authority has been set up as per provision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Medical Transplantation Regulatory Authority Act 2014. The regulatory Authority shall regulate, monitor and control the transplantation of human organs and various committees constituted under the act. It will work to establish a Provincial Regulatory and Regional Networks for evaluating quality and outcome of transplant centres.

It shall also establish a pool of voluntary donors and registry of potential recipients and regulate the removal, storage and transplantation of human organs, tissues and cells for therapic purposes in the province in a prescribed manner.
