PESHAWAR: President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Haji Mohammad Afzal said that during the recently held Job Fair jointly organized under the auspices of SCCI in collaboration with Technology Up-gradation & Skill Development Company (TUSDEC) 400 youth have been provided employment in different industrial and trade bodies while 586 other youth had been registered for employment.

Talking to the Advisor, Human Resource Development (HRD) of the European Union and a four-member delegation of journalists from Turkmenistan here in Chamber House on Thursday, he said that 136 industrialists and traders from across the country participated in that Job Fair.

He said that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the provision of on job training will be signed with 30 industrialists.

Those present on the occasion were included former presidents SCCI, Ghazanfar Bilour, Malik Niaz Ahmad and Fawad Ishaq, vice president, Abidullah Yousafzai, president, Bajaur Chamber, Lali Shah, Programme Manager TUSDEC, Faiz Mohammad and a large number of other trade and industries related personalities. Haji Mohammad Afzal said that Sarhad Chamber is play full role in the promotion of coordination among technical institutes and provision of employment to skilled youth in different industries and businesses.

For this purpose, he said both federal and provincial governments are being contacted to provide them financial assistance through provision of stipend for those doing on job training.

He said that SCCI wanted close coordination with the Human Resource Development Department of the European Union to provide better employment opportunities to the youth of KP and FATA.
