KARACHI: Annual function and prize distribution ceremony of Defence Authority Public School (O&A Levels) was held at the Auditorium of DHA Degree College for Women. Christopher Hunt, Director British Council Sindh and Balochistan was the chief guest of the function. Begum Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali was guest of honour of the ceremony.

The students on the occasion made a fabulous presentation showcasing their tremendous potential. The theme of the programme focused on paying befitting tribute to the alma mater and distinguished mentors who played a monumental role in intellectual growth and wholesome development of students to make them dynamic individuals of society.

The innovatively developed presentation opened with a scene where seven alumni students of O&A Levels meet in a re-union after several years and recall their past academic years and various extra-curricular activities of the school. These students symbolically served as a thread weaving the fabric of varied skits, shaping it to the development of the entire spectrum of the theme.

Students also made dramatic and musical presentations in a superb manner. The selected scenes enacted from “Alice in the Wonderland”, Shakespeare’s masterpiece ‘Macbeth’ and lovely songs and sonnets were of class and exclusive quality. The same were highly appreciated by the audience.

Director British Council appreciated the confidence, artistic talent and dynamic ability demonstrated by the students. He advised them to continue working hard for achieving excellence in intellectual, academic and co-curricular fields for success in life. At the end the chief guest awarded shields and certificates of academic excellence to students who showed outstanding results in examinations at school and Cambridge International Levels.

An I-Pad Tablet was presented to an outstanding student of A Level who topped in the subject of Law in Sindh and Baluchistan region. Awards were also given to teaching and non-teaching staff of the school for their year round excellent performance.—PR
