PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Salah-ud-din Khan on excellent performance of foiling a terrorist bid awarded Hangu police with cash prizes and commendation certificates.

According to details the other day a procession scheduled on Station Bypass Road at Hangu and in the meanwhile police received information that some miscreants group had planted Improvise Explosive Devices (IED) in the avenue of the procession.

On this police consisting on SHO city police station, In-charge BDS and Naib in-charge BDS Hangu reached the spot and detonated the 3-1/2 remote control bomb and thus averted a huge catastrophe.

Addressing on the occasion, the IGP appreciated the performance of Hangu police in the aforementioned case by saying that due to prompt response of police huge destruction successfully averted and thus police succeeded in establishing a good example of pro-active policing.

The IGP further informed that he felt proud to award the police on good performance and directed the awardees to remain alert in the field and foil the nefarious designs of the miscreant well-in-time.

The IGP awarded the police team SHO PS City Inspector Farid Khan, Bomb Disposal Squad Hangu Incharge ASI Asad and Naib Incharge Jafer Hussain with cash prizes and commendation certificates. Principal Staff Officer to IGP Captain Mansoor Aman (R) was also present on this occasion.
