KARACHI: Pakistan Coasts Guards having expedited its patrolling along the coastal belt, to supplement the ongoing “Radd-ul-Fassad” operation, arrested 98 men trying to cross the Pak–Iran Border without proper and legal documents.

A PCG spokesman here on Thursday said 96 Pakistanis, an Afghan and a Iran national were apprehended, in past one month, from Gwadar during snap checking of different vehicles including private cars and public buses.

None of those arrested were found to possess needed permission or legal visa, said the spokesman mentioning that consequent to initial investigation all those apprehended were handed to FIA for further action. PCG spokesman also mentioned that 1492 people were also arrested last year only as were found to be attempting to slip into Iran without valid documents. He said concerted efforts are being made to control the menace through application of all available resources.—APP
