PESHAWAR: While strongly denouncing the lynching of Mashal Khan’s over alleged blasphemy, speakers at a dialogue have demanded the killers of Mashal Khan’s murder case, should be tried in military courts.

The dialogues titled, “How can we get justice for Mashal Khan” held under umbrella of Pakhtunkhwa Olasi Tehrik (POT) here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Tuesday.

Notable speakers include Dr Said Alam Mahsud, Shakeel Waheedullah Khan, a central secretary general of Pakistan Kisan Party (PKP), Shahab Khattak advocate, Amir Sultan advocate from Mardan, Radesh Singh Tony from Sikh community, Dr Mian Iftikhar, Shabina Ayaz, Rakhshanda Naz and others.

Dr Said Alam Mahsud lauded Mashal Khan for his vision to raise voices for the problems of the students studying in the concerned university meanwhile he was bold enough to criticize the administration of the University for Surge in illegal fees, which he added were unjustified.

Shahab Khan emphasised on expediting the movement launched for getting justice Mashal Khan and he also stressed for a broader unity within the province and across the country to achieve the goals meant to stop such sort incidents in further.

“According to the current judicial system the culprits in a mob murder always escaped capital punishment as they get benefit of doubts,” Amir Sultan advocate claimed, adding the military courts was the only amicable option in the case of Mashal Khan.

Iqbal Hoti and Atif Afzal condemned a meeting held in Mardan attended by few political parties to protect all culprits who are already in the custody of police, and they asked the apex court to take stern action against that illegal meeting and their announcement inquiry by own in the case of Mashal.

Shakeel Waheedullah Khan on the occasion said boycott be made against those political parties, which were taking stand for culprits behind the scene and also urged that State should play its role in this regard.

The participants thanked to religious scholars including Taqi Usmani, Mufti Naeem, Maulana Samiul-Haq, Imam-e-Ka’aba and others for condemning the brutal murder Mashal and declared him a Martyr. They unanimously asked leaders of all other religious political parties to openly condemn killing of Mashal Khan and term the incident as a terrorist act.
