HYDERABAD: A 3-day training workshop on “Quality Assurance, Plagiarism, ICT Skills in Research Management” got underway at University of Sindh, Jamshoro under the auspices of Quality Enhancement Cell of the varsity. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Muneeruddin Soomro, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Business Administration. Whereas, Prof. Dr. Imamuddin Khoso, Director IBA, Dr. Shahzad Ahmed Memon, Director QEC, Abdul Sami Shaikh and others were in attendance. 30 research scholars from diverse departments/ institutes alsp participated.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Dean, FC&BA Dr. Muneeruddin Soomro said that University of Sindh was privileged to have a large number of foreign qualified PhD teachers who were paying maximum attention and imparting utmost effort to the conduct, promotion and quality enhancement of research in the university.

Dr. Soomro was sanguine while he observed that he was in anticipation of hundreds of other SU scholars who were at the last leg of their PhD research at various world campuses and were about to return to university to serve Sindh, Pakistan and the world at large.

He said research served as the backbone of the university mission, vision and function; hence, the present administration especially VC-SU Dr. Burfat and Registrar SU Dr. Chandio were treating it as a top priority.

In his remarks on the occasion Prof. Dr. Imamuddin Khoso, Director IBA said that the success research largely depended on technical excellence in research methodology. He said without possession of requisite research, study and teaching learning skills a university faculty would be as good as nothing. He stressed that the University of Sindh leaded to fill the gap between theory and practice in the research arena.
