HYDERABAD: The SU school students have highlighted the importance of education through their tableaux, dances and other performances at a function held at Syed Panah Ali Shah (SPAS) Model School Sindh University Jamshoro here on Tuesday.

The premises of SU’s Syed Panah Ali Shah Model School wore a colourful look on the eve of Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony. A large number of people turned up to watch the annual function of the school wherein the female students performed dance on Sindhi songs and presented Tableaux.

On the occasion, the vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat and other luminaries gave away awards and free uniforms to the students. They also drew appreciation for their performance in dance, tableau and oratory competitions during the inter schools programme held during the entire year.

Addressing on the occasion, VC Dr. Burfat said that such programmes helped provide budding talent platform to exhibit their skills.

He said SU was rendering great services in the education sector and promoting academic activities. Every person of society must play his/her role in this regard, he said.

He said there was no dearth of talent, and observed that the SU faculty and officers were doing their best for the progress and development of the institution.

He also highlighted the role of parents in encouraging their children to focus on their education and career.

He announced to convert SU’s Syed Panah Ali Shah Model School into a cadet college for girls in order to impart quality education adding the necessity of school in terms of providing teachers of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English would be fulfilled initially by recruiting teaching assistants on merit.

Dr. Burfat further said that he will give internship to those female students of the varsity in Model school who had passed out with flying colors.

“The school will now be run through school management committee (SMC) in which the elected representatives of Officers’ Association and SUTA (two from each) will be included,” he said.

He announced to frame a policy by which the faculty members of education faculty would be bound initially to teach in school after completing their PhDs in education.
