LAHORE: With a view to make the Punjab Human Organs Transplant Authority (PHOTA) more effective for monitoring human organs transplantation activities, regional offices of the authority are being established in Rawalpindi, Multan and Faisalabad.

Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafiq said here on Monday that implementation on rules and regulations of PHOTA would be strictly implemented and action will be taken on the violation of the law.

He directed that recruitment on sanctioned posts of PHOTA should immediately be completed to make the authority full functional.

Director General PHOTA Dr Faisal Masood, concerned officers of Health department, members of the Authority and Prof Riaz Tasleem from the Punjab Healthcare Commission attended the meeting which decided that services of well reputed law firm would be hired to look after legal matters of the authority.
