FAISALABAD: Induction of leading business tycoons into the public sector entities has yielded positive results in addition to playing their instrumental role in stabilizing national economy and hence this policy should continue in best national interest, said Engineer Muhammad Saeed sheikh, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Appreciating the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to include leading committed, competent, versatile and professional entrepreneurs into the Board of Directors of different public sector entities, he said that they entirely changed the chemistry of these organizations. “They managed these organizations in line with the fundamentals of economic rules instead of sticking to the lethargic and bureaucratic practices,” he said and added that earlier these organizations were facing deficit and were also bringing disrepute for the sitting government due to their ill functioning. “The persons from the private sector tried to make in-time decisions and hence now these organizations are yielding positive results,” he added.

Sheikh also lauded the nomination of Abdul Basit, President LCCI, as chairman of the Punjab Thermal Power Limited and said that he would try his optimum best to bring a qualitative as well as quantitative improvement in the overall working of this company.

He also underlined the economic importance of Faisalabad and said that Faisalabad has the privilege to contribute at least 55% in the total textile export of the country. He demanded that FCCI members are also prepared to serve the public sector organizations, hence they should also be included in the BOD of public sector organizations. He also demanded that the President FCCI should also be made ex-officio members of this organization as he is the elected president of this representative trade body.
