ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, on Tuesday ordered to cancel visas of all foreigners linked with ARK Info Tech Company which under the garb of running an Urdu academy is violating visa rules and involved in activities against the national interest.

A senior official said that two Chinese nationals including Lee Zing Yang,24 and Meng Li Si 26 years, were abducted from Jinnah Town Quetta on May 24 who were engaged in preaching under the garb of learning Urdu from a Korean national, Juan Won Seo, who is the owner of ARK Info Tech. Investigation into the abduction of the Chinese nationals have revealed that South Korean National, Juan Wan Seo alias Gilbert, came to Pakistan on business visa, established Urdu academy and got involved in unauthorized activities in violation of his visa rules, he said.

He said that the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted to investigate abduction of two Chinese nationals has presented its report before the Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

The official said that following a detailed review of JIT report, the Interior Minister ordered the cancellation of all the visas and deportation of all the foreigners linked with ARK Info Tech. He said that the Minister also issued directives to cancel the registration of other similar companies. “Cases are registered and actively pursued against the management of ARK Info Tech on charges of involvement in illegal activities,” he said, adding that Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) should conduct audit of all foreign companies and firms in order to cancel registration of those companies which do not comply with their visa rules, fall short in filing their tax returns and involved in illegal activities.

The Minister also issued directives to the SECP to thoroughly review documents and financial matters before registration of any foreign company.

The Minister also issued directives to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to conduct an inquiry against SECP officials who are involved in negligence of ARK Info Tech matters. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs should also thoroughly review the documents of visa applicants to keep a check on obtaining Pakistani visa through fake documents, he said, adding that Ministry of Foreign Affairs should also inform Korean ambassador about the facts and evidence. It should also be investigated that how ARK Info Tech under the garb of an Urdu academy violated visa rules and how it continued its activities unchecked against national interest.
