ISLAMABAD: Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq on Tuesday offered railways services for transportation of petroleum products to avert any crisis in the country.

Spokesperson of Pakistan Railway Durriya told Business Recorder that Railway Minister has contacted Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi where the services were offered. Saad Rafiq has also directed Chief Executive Officer Railways Muhammad Javed Anwar to contact Pakistan State Oil (PSO) as the strike culture could not be tolerated in the country.

Expressing serious concern over the oil tanker strike, minister said that Pakistan Railways can immediately start petroleum products supply to all provinces.

The Minister further stated that Railway has enough engines as well as stock.

He further said that Railways will charge reasonable fare and would play a positive role.
