LAHORE: Dr Umar Saif, Vice Chancellor Information Technology University (ITU) Punjab, opened an exhibition to commemorate the 70 Years of Pakistan’s independence at the Arfa Software Technology Park curated by the Centre for Governance and Policy ITU here Thursday.

The exhibition will remain open for one month till September 14, 2017, which covers the period from the Lahore Resolution in 1940 to Pakistan’s creation and the immediate aftermath. On this occasion Dr. Umar Saif in his address said that there was a need to make aware our youth of the ideology of Pakistan and the untiring struggle of our elders who scarified their lives, families and belongings to achieve the milestone of an independent homeland for us. It was now foremost duty of our youth to adopt modern technology to make Pakistan a developed country, he added.

The exhibition also showcases the development of Pakistan’s map, from the accession of the princely states, the loss of Junagarh State, and then the fall of Dhaka in 1971.

The pictorial exhibition recalls the cherishing memories of our independence, preserve national unity and diversity. A large number of students from various educational institutions are scheduled to witness the exhibition.
