RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday sought replies from interior ministry by August 25 in an application praying to place the name of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the Exit Control List (ECL).

The petitioner Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafree argued that the former premier could flee the country to avoid references of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) ordered by the Supreme Court in Panama cases. He said Nawaz Sharif despite repeated notices has not been appearing before the NAB.

Barrister Jafree said the respondent could fly because several cases including money laundering were pending against him before courts.
