ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Daniyal Aziz has claimed that no rigging took place in general election 2013.

While addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Minister for Privatization Daniyal Aziz lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan for failing to abide by law for the last three years.

He remarked that Imran has been himself avoiding the anti-terrorism court and other court proceedings for the past three years. “How can Imran Khan be arrested? He is hiding away in Nathiagali,” alleged Aziz.

Comparing Khan with Nawaz Sharif, he said Sharif has presented himself for accountability but Khan has not done so.

He also criticized National Accountability Bureau (NAB), saying it was being treated as a dead organization previously. He expressed surprise over the ‘summons issued by a dead organization.’ Moreover, he asked if the Joint Investigation Team, which was formed to probe ex-PM’s assets, had failed in its inquiry so that NAB is conducting further investigations.

He remarked that people alleging that others are involved in wrongdoings are themselves committing crimes.

Leaders share a special bond with their voters, he said, adding that conceited attempts are being made to break that bond between Nawaz Sharif and his voters, adding that public sentiments got hurt with disqualification of Sharif.

During the GT Road rally, it was decided that a Grand National Alliance would be formed, he said, adding that further issues regarding legal and constitutional structures would also be discussed. He said dialogue is underway in this regard.

“We will also speak with the legal fraternity.” Moreover, consultation would be done to set up rules, he added.

He said Imran Khan talks about accountability whereas his own accountability office is closed in KP.
