ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Marriyum Aurangzeb on Tuesday said that the right to information bill is of significant importance and it will give every person access to information.

While talking to the media outside the Parliament House, she said information is deliberately concealed as well as restricted under the label of national security; however, the bill will give right to individuals to get the information related to person within three days.

She further said the court will also facilitate a common man if he needs some information, adding he/she shall be provided with the information within ten days.

Moreover, she said that all parties played its role in the presentation and approval of this bill.

Appreciating former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision, she said it was his vision which made Pakistan able to fight terrorism and the world has acknowledged Pakistani efforts as well as sacrifices.

She said no single charge of corruption has been proved against Nawaz Sharif.

The bill moved by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb provides for the right to information in transparent and effective manner, subject only to reasonable restrictions imposed by law.
