LAHORE: The City Traffic Police (CTP) has chalked out a comprehensive traffic plan for arrival and parking of vehicles during the first phase of Raiwind annual congregation.

As per the plan, at least two SPs, eight DSPs, 34 Inspectors, 118 patrolling officers and 698 traffic wardens have been deployed by providing them fork lifters and breakdowns to manage the traffic flow.

For the purpose, the control rooms, monitoring rooms and a camp office have also been established. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Rai Ijaz Ahmed said that vehicles will only be allowed to park only in designated parking areas. According to the traffic plan, vehicles coming from GT Road Gujranwala will be sent to Thokar Niaz Baig through Kala Shah Kako Motorway interchange.

Those vehicles, which will arrive at Shahdara from GT Road Gujranwala, will be sent through Kazabash Chowk towards Raiwind congregation via Khayaban Chowk. The devotees coming from Faisalabad via Sheikhupura will be sent to Thokar Niaz Baig via Pir Babar Shah Chowk Sheikhupura.

Vehicles, which will arrive at Shera Kot, will be sent through motorway and they will not be allowed to go towards Chowk Yateem Khana. Those vehicles will be diverted from Kazalbash Chowk towards Pajian Chowk and from Pajian Chowk to towards Rohi Nala. Vehicles coming from Okara will be sent towards Raiwind congregation from Rohi Nala with cooperation of the motorway police.

As the Sundar Industrial Road is a very busy, the devotees will be allowed to park their vehicles in parking number two and three.

The vehicles arrived at Mohlanwal Multan Road will be sent to Raiwind congregation from Bhobatian Chowk via Defence Road and will be parked at parking number 1 and 10. The vehicles coming from Kot Radha Kishan will be sent to parking number six and seven through Manga RohiNala via Bhachoki Bhatak. The vehicles coming from Kasur will be sent to Parking number nine through Lalyani Suaasil Road Jodho Phatak via Burhan Chowk.
