PESHAWAR: District administration Saturday arrested the manager of the renowned super store, Jan Arcade for profiteering while the managers of Pak-Bakery and Jan Bakery were arrested for poor cleanliness conditions.

On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Peshawar, the officials of district administration carried out checking of different sweets & bakeries and mega stores in Peshawar Cantonment.

During checking in Jan Arcade, the officials of district administration found that the sale men of the mega store were charging exorbitant prices from the consumers and official price list was also missing on which the manager was arrested while during checking of Pak Bakery and Jan Bakery, the officials of the district administration found their kitchens in highly unhygienic conditions.

Furthermore, the salt being used in the kitchen of Pak-Bakery was expired and its expiry deadline was already passed while the spices used in Jan Bakery were also expired.

On this occasion, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC), Tariq Hussain expressed severe anguish and arrested the managers. The arrested persons, he said will be dealt as per law of the province.

Meanwhile, a statement issued from the DC Peshawar Office said that checking of the mega super stores, bakeries and sweets shops will continue and warned the proprietors of such facilities to follow hygienic principles, refrain from profiteering other stern action will be taken against them.
