LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to officially celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in a befitting manner.

A high level meeting was held here Wednesday with Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in the chair. The meeting held a detailed review of security plan pertaining to law and order and arrangements of various religious ceremonies with regard to Eid Milad-un-Nabi in the province.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the Punjab government will celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi with full religious fervor and passion and special ceremonies will be held in every district of the province. He directed the concerned officials to arrange special programmes on the eve of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. He said mosques, shrines and other buildings will be illuminated. He also directed to make special arrangements of cleanliness of streets and bazaars.

He said that Na’at and Qira’at competitions will be arranged and the best performing persons will be awarded as well. While directing to provide best facilities to the people attending the religious ceremonies and Milad processions, the Chief Minister said that foolproof security arrangements should be ensured at every cost on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in the province.
