LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said on Sunday that if he becomes the PM in 2018 he would personally look after development projects.

The Chief Minister addressed a public rally today and said that KP, Sindh and Balochistan provinces would progress as Lahore if the people give Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) mandate in

upcoming General Elections 2018.

CM Shehbaz said that ‘political clowns’ staged a drama on Mall Road last week and people who pocketed development funds meant for the uplift of country also participated in the show.

While criticizing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Punjab CM said that Imran Khan has never replied to the legal notice he sent him over false allegations. PTI chief’s counsel seeks a fresh date for hearing every time on hearing day, he claimed.

PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province has not produced a single Mega Watt (MW) of electricity after Imran Khan made tall claims in General Elections 2013 of making the province self-sufficient in electricity.

The CM said that the Government of Punjab dispatched medicines to Peshawar after a Dengue outbreak in Peshawar and its surroundings while Imran Khan did nothing. CM Punjab said that funds were utilised on development projects in Punjab and loans were not sought for the same.

He asserted that PML-N would bring back the looted money from Swiss banks if it assumes power in the Federal Government once again in General Elections 2018. National Accountability Bureau (NAB) could not bring back the money but PML-N would, Shehbaz claimed.

He further claimed to complete a metro project within a year if the people of Peshawar elect PML-N in the forthcoming General Elections 2018.

While talking about his NAB hearing on January 24 over Ashiana Housing Scheme scandal, CM Shehbaz said that he has not decided to appear before NAB committee and he would announce his course of action the next day.

He further claimed to have stepped down as Chief Minister if corruption worth a penny is proved against him.—NNI
