FAISALABAD: The district administration and Social Welfare Department have jointly organised two day spring festival at Qasr-e-Behbood in connection with the celebrations of World Women Day.

Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani along with parliamentarians Begum Khalida Mansur, Sh Ejaz Ahmad, Madiha Rana and Dr Najma Afzal inaugurated the spring festival and took a round of different stalls. Addl Deputy Commissioner HQ Mian Aftab Ahmad, Deputy Director Social Welfare Ch Ashraf, Manager Sanatazar Saleem Balandya, Incharge Qasr-e-Behbood Khalida Rafiq, Advisory Committee Members, NGOs representatives, large numbers of women from different walks of life and under training girls students were present on the occasion.

The different stalls and programs have been arranged for the recreation and interest of the women including fancy dress show, bridal show, food stalls, fashion show, nail art, face art, quiz competition, drama, medical camp, traffic rules awareness camp, exhibition of handicrafts and others colourful events. Deputy Commissioner told that objective of holding the Jashan-e-Baharan was to enhance the constructive and thinking capacity of the women and to provide recreational opportunities to them. He said the Qasr-e-Behbood project had been provided funds of Rs 140 million for the establishment of this project which was successfully started with the assistance of parliamentarians and the Punjab govt.

The parliamentarians said the govt had taken a number of steps for the development and welfare of the women folk. They said women empowerment will help to achieve the goal of development and prosperity. They appreciated the steps of Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani for making functional of Qasr-e-Behbood. Incharge Qasr-e-Behbood informed the details of different arts & crafts courses which were running in the centre.
