ISLAMABAD: The Division Bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday rejected the plea of former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, to provide bullet-proof vehicle for his security.

IHC Judge, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani announcing the decision that former CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was legible only to enjoy the privileges offered under Judges Pension Order.

The former CJP had moved the court through ex-President Lahore High Court Bar (LHCB) Sheikh Ahsanuddin Advocate.

Division Bench of High Court had annulled the decision of single bench regarding providing bullet-proof vehicle to ex-CJP and had returned the case to the Bench for reissuing the decision after hearing all stakeholders.

But upon refusal of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, the case was sent to new bench. IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani after hearing the arguments had reserved the decision which was announced today (Friday).—INP
