PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Authority on Monday banned the underage animals slaughtering, what it said that the practice leads to genocide of animals. In this regard, a notification was issued by directorate general KP food safety and Halal food authority here.

Director Technical KP food Authority Dr Abdul Sattar Shah while commenting on the ban said that butchers slaughtering underage animals and mix it up with mutton causing adulteration. He further added that KP food authority intended to preserve animals’ generations and underage slaughtering is damage to this noble cause.

The Notification issued after a brief meeting of research committee includes several other items to be banned. The items banned include, soft and energy drinks inside school premises along with loose chips. “Gutka Paan, Chalian, substandard ice-cream, and mislabeling or false labeling is also banned” notification reads.

Meanwhile, on the special directives of Director General KP Food Authority Riaz Khan Mahsud Peshawar team led by Assistant Director Saira Nisar inspected university town area sealing the cake palace outlet over health hazard and unhygienic situations. Similarly, Sherin Mahal is charged with Rs. two lacs over poor hygiene and unsatisfactory cleanliness. The director continued inspection and stroked on Shelton restaurant, where more than thirty items were find expired. The restaurant is imposed a fine of five lacs.

Likewise, Assistant Director Aneela Mahboob while inspecting food outlets on Charsadda road Peshawar imposed a total fine of Rs. one hundred seventy five thousand over violation of food safety act 2014.

On the other hand, Deputy Director Asad Qasim along with Assistant Director Murad Ali in swat charged Master Foods rupees five hundred thousand over expired pulp, expired raw material that was supposed to be used squash, jams and juices. More than eight hundred Kilogram raw material is discarded while another ice-cream factory is inspected and charged rupees forty thousand having Shakreen inside the premises of the factory.
