RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court adjourned to June 29 the contempt proceedings against Ahsan Iqbal and said it will see the application in accordance with law if Ahsan wants exemption from personal appearance.

Earlier counsel of Ahsan Iqbal asked the court to adjourn the case till the end of election. Ahsan Iqbal again reiterated that he always respected the judiciary. Former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal expressed his concern over comments of former minister Auqaf & Religious Affairs Sayed Zaeem Hussain Qadri claiming that Qadri should complain within the party first. After attending the contempt proceedings against him, he said if someone had reservations over party decisions he should first discuss or complain inside the party rather than holding press conferences.

Talking about the current political scenario, Ahsan said the international media had claimed that only Nawaz Sharif is being targeted. “We don’t want politics on bases of prejudice,” he added.
