SIALKOT: Independence Day will be celebrated with usual zeal and great enthusiasm on August 14, in Sialkot district. The daylong programmes will be started with special prayers for the solidarity, unity and prosperity of the country and for the early liberation of Indian held Kashmir in all mosques of the district.

Meanwhile, the preparations for celebrating Independence Day gained momentum in the city and other parts of the district. The sale of national flags, colourful buntings and garlands, big portraits of Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and other national heroes was in full swing in the city and people were purchasing national flags, coulourful buntings and other decorative material for decorating their homes and shopping centres.

On this occasion various social, cultural organizations and educational institutions were busy in preparing colorful programmes for celebrating Independence Day with national

spirit in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of Sialkot district on August 14.
