SWC seeks SCA DG’s views on the issue

KARACHI: Sindh Water Commission has asked the Federal Secretary Energy to ensure the appearance of Director General Sindh Coal Authority for resolving the issues related to power connections to tube-wells.

DG Sindh Coal Authority didn’t turn up in the last hearing of the commission though he was informed about the commission’s order to appear in it.

The revised challans regarding power connections of tube wells have been causing troubles for the agriculture sector in Sindh and the commission took up this issue by directing DG Sindh Coal Authority to appear and present the authority view on the issue.

In its order, the commission observed that revised challan regarding power connection of tube wells, that have still not been energized at Solar Hybrid Desalination Plant Mithi can be settled, adding that the DG Authority should appear with the letter directed by the commission which the Sindh Coal Authority has to address to HESCO.

Once the Sindh Coal Authority issues letter, revised challan in the name of Public Health Engineering Department shall be issued, the commission stated and directed Public Health Engineering Department to pay the revised challan, so that the tube well connections are energized.
