ISLAMABAD: Shell Pakistan Limited held the Shell Technology Leadership Conference (STLC) here on Thursday, showcasing solutions in lubricants, fuel, and technological advancements in the energy industry.

Around 200 of Shell Pakistan’s Lubricants Business-to-Business (B2B) customers participated with the purpose of learning from global experts about new technology breakthroughs in the ‘Shell world.’

Haroon Rashid, Chief Executive and Managing Director of Shell Pakistan, Mian Asad Hayaud Din, Federal Secretary for Petroleum Division, and Joerg Wienke, Vice President Retail Marketing of Royal Dutch Shell, also participated in the event.

“We are proud to lead discussions around lubricant and fuel technology in Pakistan,” said Haroon Rashid. “In a world that is ever changing, it is important to share innovations and advancements with our partners in Pakistan to ensure the best possible product for our consumers. Shell strongly believes that together we can make a difference.”

Later in a press briefing, Shell spokesman Habib Haider said that it was top priority of the Shell to introduce Methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) free fuel to consumers in Pakistan. “We have been working with the government to meet the June 2019 deadline to bring the level of MMT in 92 Ron from 40 milligrams to 20 milligrams,” he said.

He said that Shell V-Power is free of MMT (up to 4 milligram) which was also recognised by a complainant Honda Car manufacturer to Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). Honda Cars is using V-Power petrol at the facility in Lahore.

He further said that Shell Pakistan Limited is part of a consortium to construct LNG terminal and re-gasification unit in Karachi. “We are at advance stage but cannot disclose the details at this stage,” the spokesman said.
